Privacy Policy
← Back to home1. Who we are
nordelions ("we", "us") operates the website at nordelions.com, an independent guide that field-tests and ranks free-to-play strategy and tower defense games. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected]. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. Data we collect
- Technical & log data: IP address, browser type and user-agent, device information, referring pages and timestamps.
- Cookies & similar technologies: used for basic site function, analytics and advertising (see our cookie policy).
- Analytics data: aggregated usage such as pages viewed and time on page.
- Advertising identifiers: identifiers used by advertising partners to measure and serve ads.
- Form data: if you use the subscribe form, the name, phone and email you choose to provide.
- Push notification identifiers: if you allow notifications, a browser push subscription (and any email you add) is stored by our push processor, OneSignal, to deliver messages.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
We process this data to operate and secure the site, understand how it is used, deliver and measure advertising, and — where you have opted in — send you email and web push updates about new rankings. Under PIPEDA we rely on your consent for marketing communications, push notifications and non-essential cookies, and on our legitimate interests for security and basic analytics. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above: log and analytics data for a limited period, and subscription/push data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics may be kept longer.
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with service providers who process it on our behalf, including:
- Hosting provider — to serve the website.
- Analytics providers — to measure site usage.
- Advertising networks — to serve and measure ads.
- OneSignal — our web push and email delivery processor, which stores push subscriptions and any email address you provide to send notifications on our behalf.
Some providers may process data outside Canada; where they do, comparable safeguards are expected to apply.
6. Cookies
Details of the cookies we use and how to control them are in our cookie policy.
7. Your rights
Subject to PIPEDA, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or request deletion. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca.
8. Unsubscribing from notifications
You can turn off web push at any time in your browser's site settings, and unsubscribe from email using the link in any message or by contacting us.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
10. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
